Each year the Eden Project in Cornwall hosts Father Christmas and his Elves in a domed canvas tent where young people can meet him and experience the magic of Christmas with stories and interactive installations.

Another collaboration with CQ Lighting, I was a Technician on this project. Having also assisted in 2014 I had a rough idea of what was required which made working independently much easier.
One of the first jobs was to rig the truss with the lights needed for both general wash as well as specific area lights.

Although the week started quite slowly as the scenic elements started to fall into place our jobs list got quite full and it was great to be achieving sections quite methodically.

One of my jobs was to create the lighting system which powered the Christmas Cheer-o-metre which consisted of five LED panels and a red LED beacon controlled by an aging DJ lighting desk. Christmas Cheer was to be increased in stages with the beacon activating when the meter was full.

It was a really good week creating a great environment for the kids this year.
